Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiohmole has said he will not spend any of the state resources to finance the Good Governance Tour programme organized by the federal Ministry of Information.
Governor Adams Oshiomhole stated this yesterday during the interactive session with stakeholders at the one- day stakeholders’ seminar organized by the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue Service in collaboration with the Edo State Judiciary which had its theme; “X-raying The Laws Guiding The Operation of Revenue Generation In Edo State.”
According to the governor, whenever he travels to Abuja for any official business the cost burden is on the state; and not the federal government. He said it is inappropriate to use Edo State tax payers’ money to finance federal government programme.
He said the Minister and other members of the Good Governance Tour would be well received if they paid courtesy call on him at the State Government House but he would not use the state resources to start showing them projects executed by the state government which he said the people of Edo State have already seen.
He said Edo State Government is only accountable to the people of the state and not the federal government

He said he had earlier kicked against the move for states to sponsor the Good Governance Tour when the matter was first discussed at Governors’ Forum on the ground that Edo State for instance has no money for waste.
He said they were requested to provide accommodations and feeding for the over 120 delegates on the tour and as well rent hall and organize stakeholders meeting for them
